A New Breed of Real Estate


It is amazing how many people are starting careers in real estate today. Throughout Canada, there have been thousands of new agents who got their affiliated real estate license during the last couple of years.

Yet how many of them have been successful at it? There are many roadblocks to a thriving real estate career and I cannot think of any other business that chews up and spits out people so quickly as the real estate brokerage business.

With so many new agents to enter the trade each and every year most of the brokers developed a business model based not on quality, training and increased volumes of sales but rather on quantity and monthly fees. They offer to pay 100% commission and they are only interested to take your monthly fee. It makes no difference to them if you make 50 sales a year or no sale at all. They do not invest in training or new technologies to help their agents sell more.

There are so many new agents who chose this profession hoping to get rich fast without realising they are plunging heads on into a business where, quite frankly, every day that you wake up, you are seeking work! What these new agents are lacking is a true understanding of how the business really works and what to expect. They believe everything that teachers are telling them at the real estate classes that market knowledge, confidence and hard work is all you need.
